All the best to Becky

Best wishes to Becky, one of the Propeller stars, who is off on pregnancy leave. She’s been a member of the team for well over 11 years, so for the next few months we’re really going to miss her presence, as well as her smile and sense of fun.

Take care and enjoy this precious time, Becky. We can’t wait to meet the new member of the Wybrow family!

Brad’s on the team

A big welcome to Brad Hunt, who has recently joined our creative team. Suffolk born and bred, Brad is a highly skilled graphic designer with experience across the marketing mix. A first class honours graduate of UCS, Brad spent five years in children’s publishing before joining a local design and marketing agency specialising in the property sector.

“I’ve been aware of Propeller’s excellent reputation since I was at uni,” says Brad. “The idea of working with a close-knit, hands-on team appealed to me. There’s a really positive vibe and the guys have built strong, long-term relationships with many clients, which says it all.”

Outside work, Brad is a bit of an action man. He’s a keen gamer, playing both video games and traditional board games. He also enjoys a good work-out at the gym, airsoft military simulation games, cycling and the odd spot of mountain climbing.

Supporting a world first

Bawdsey Radar, an unassuming collection of concrete bunkers close to the Suffolk Coast, was home to the world’s first chain radar station and as such, proved critical to Britain’s success in World War II.

The team at the charity behind its recent restoration is delighted with our new brand identity and website.

It’s energising working with such a committed group of knowledgeable enthusiasts and we’ve enjoyed every minute.

Our branding solution includes a logo featuring concentric circles which hint at radio waves and the symbol of the RAF. It also shows three As, simplified, in order to reflect the shape of the Bawdsey Radar towers – these were enormous structures, more than 300 ft tall, that dominated the surrounding landscape.

The website also pays respect to an historic colour scheme, alongside demonstrating the post-war developments in the use of radar and featuring a click-through history timeline, covering every significant event in the history of Radar from the early 1930s to the present day.

Psychology at work

The OPC is an occupational and business psychology consultancy that specialises in the transport sector. As well as a suite of psychometric assessment tools, they offer a range of services, including employment engagement, safety culture audits and HR training.

The OPC briefed us to redesign their website, to give it a more contemporary look and feel, as well as improve the user experience. We also needed to ensure that the site works seamlessly with the company’s e-commerce and content management systems.

Clarity and coherence are at the heart of our creative solution, with simple navigation and a clean, minimalist layout, presenting all content in an easily digestible format. The home page clearly delineates the two key areas of the business (psychology and assessment), providing a smooth user journey directly to areas of interest.
